2008 Run for Rose

In 2006, Rose DiGangi was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma, a malignant Brain Tumor. After a courageous battle, Rose passed away on October 20th, 2007. In her memory, the DiGangi Family will continue to raise awareness and support for Brain Tumor Research.

Last year's first time event, successfully raised $67,000. 100% of the net proceeds were donated towards research programs of The American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA). In celebration of Rose's life and amazing spirit we will continue the fight for a cure.

There are 190,000+ people in the United States each year that are diagnosed with a brain tumor. Because brain tumors are located at the control center for thought, emotion and movement, their effects on an individual's physical and cognitive abilities can be devastating. Progress has been made, but there is still so much that is not known.

This year's event will be held on Sunday, August 10th, in Ocean Bay Park, Fire Island, NY. After the run there will be a festival at Fire Island Hotel that will include raffles, a DJ, live music, and a BBQ. Once again all net proceeds will be donated to the research programs of the American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA).
